FIRE -
Never Run - Demo - USA - 1988
Female fronted band featuring Jessie (ex Actor) and House of Lords guitarist
Mike Guy. Another of life's great mysteries
why this band didn't release an album or get the attention they deserved! AWESOME BAND! |

BOMBAY (Rio) - Rules of Love
- UK - 1984
Pre RIO b side to the 'Hold Me' 7" single. Rio's Borderland album must be
one of the most under rated, ahead of it's time albums ever and another band just begging for re-release! |

HAREM SCAREM -
- Stayin' Away - Demo - Canada - 1993
Taken from the Mood Swings demos. Certainly a rowdy yet melodic hard rocking track in less polished demo form. |

IF ONLY
- Lies - Demo - 1989 - UK One of my fave bands. This track is a Pre-Jackie Bodimead demo with singer 'Lorraine Bennington'
up front on this
brilliant early song.
Word from ex band members is there could be some collectors vinyl being released of
early 'If Only' material via a US label - more info soon!

ALIAS - In the Heat of the Night
- Demo - US - 1990 Another song from another unreleased second album which has gems smacked
all over it? Given the hits off the first album and a supposed second album gathering dust
god only knows why another official release didn't happen for Alias?

RUBY SLIPPERS - Mon Cheri - Demo - 1985 - USA
With Michael Arden on lead vocals Ruby Slippers might well have been the greatest
Glam band
that never released an album. Or to go one better maybe even the greatest glam band ever! Certainly
one of my fave true glam bands! A little paroxided bird tells me
a cd retrospective of the Slippers demo recordings is on the way.

MARC QUEE - Queen of the Night 7" single - Sweden - 1989
Ex Attentant Rock vocalist Marc Quee from his days in Sweden.
Despite early demos this would be my fave recorded version of 'Queen of the Night' before Marc
auditioned for Talisman/Midnight Blue
and played live in "Jack Ass" with Spellbound/Glenn Hughes guitarist JJ Marsh and recorded
with German's Viva. Queen of the Night features members of
Swede melodic hard rockers 'Mogg' on backing vocals.

TAIPAN - Rock In Motion - Demo - Australia - 1985
Went on to feature on the 1770 ep. One of Australia's early heavy metal bands that
transformed to a more progressive and melodic outfit in the end with the introductions of keys
like on this toon.
Obscure and catchy!

HEAVEN - In the Begining - Live - Reseda Country Club, LA - 17 Dec 83 - Australia
Hardly a band that you would call wimps! ..but very much wimpwire approved especially with
the US band line up on their Knocking on Heaven's Door album! Each of their album's certainly had
something special. Here the Oz band line up rip things up
live for a US radio broadcast in the early 80s.

RIOT - Swords & Tequila - Live - Cleveland USA
Riot have always been one of my fave bands so this is a small tribute

May his legend live on! RIP |

FARENHEIT - Wanna Know Your Love - DEMO - Australia - 1990
Not to be confused with the US band. Short lived Australian melodic hard rock outfit complete with mobile keyboard player ala
Gregg Giuffria. Great live! Singer went onto to front Melbourne hard rock pub rockers Shotgun Alley.

FATE - New Sensation - Demo - 1985 - Denmark
First demo with guitarist/band leader Hank Sherman still in Merciful Fate and obviously
melody struck
before splitting to do the more commercial Fate with still much missed vocalist Jeff 'Lox' Limbo. Despite hissy quality
still quite interesting to hear the Merciful Fate style
transition on this demo. |
